Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how RingSMS ("RingSMS", "we", "us", or "our"), a product of Birangal, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the RingSMS Android application (the "App").
1. Information we collect
To provide its core functionality, RingSMS requests the following permissions on your device:
- Phone State and Call Log: we use these to detect incoming and missed calls so RingSMS knows when to send an auto-reply SMS. We also read the caller's phone number to send the message and apply features like per-contact throttling and number blocking.
- SMS: used to send the auto-reply message you set up to the calling number.
We also collect:
- Account information: when you sign in with Google (via Firebase Authentication), we receive your name, email address, and profile ID to create and secure your account.
- App settings: your custom SMS message template, blocked numbers, and feature toggles (e.g. one SMS per day per contact), stored against your account in Firebase Cloud Firestore so your settings sync and stay saved across sessions.
- Subscription information: your plan type and status, so we can confirm you have active access to the App.
2. How we use your information
- To detect calls and send the SMS you've configured, automatically and in real time.
- To apply the settings you choose, such as message throttling and number blocking.
- To authenticate you and keep your account and settings secure.
- To manage your subscription and provide customer support.
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use call log or SMS content data for advertising.
3. Where your information is processed
Call detection and SMS sending happen locally on your device through your phone's own SMS service. Account details and app settings are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which may process and store data on Google's cloud infrastructure.
4. Data sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties, except:
- With service providers who help us operate the App (e.g. Google Firebase), under their own data protection terms.
- If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of RingSMS, our users, or the public.
5. Data retention
We retain your account information and app settings for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 8).
6. Your choices
- You can turn RingSMS on or off at any time from within the App.
- You can edit or delete your custom message and blocked numbers at any time.
- You can revoke SMS, Call Log, or Phone State permissions through your device settings, though doing so will disable the App's core functionality.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us.
7. Children's privacy
RingSMS is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
